Tentacular

Tentacular

2023 | Public Space Casa do Olhar Luiz Sacilotto

TENTACULAR is an action environment in which Renata Pelegrini revisits expressions of her work and welcomes them in her current artistic journey. Through the flow of connections, what is perceived is the timeless encounter of research that the artist intertwines in her practice.

The research RADIX holds the ancestry of the cohabitants of land and sea, while SENTIENT presents the porous world of the feminine. MAPPA reveals the search for direction where the body was oriented; and yet, STRATA accentuate the horizon and transposition. Finally, ATTACCATI intends care and bonds between humans and more-than-humans.

RENATA PELEGRINI + MARCIO HARUM - conversation I

Tentacular brings together works on paper, branch sticks and ceramics for the first time. Held  between 2008 and 2023, these pieces form a set of situations and distinct periods of  production. Tentacular is the name both of her artistic research, as well as the search and her  incessant way of operating.

Renata is an artist, translator and teacher.

Interested in the female ancestry, she was in an art residency at the Centro de Investigação  Artística Hangar, in Lisbon (2018). And from then on, she merged several of her practices into  an intertwined milieu of relationships. Painting, drawing, sculpture and installation are part of  this process that weaves through the subjective universe, fiction and a particular look at the  planet.
