ARTS GUIDE (MAPA DAS ARTES)

The Mapa das Artes guide was created by journalist Celso Fioravante in 2002 and is the most comprehensive of its kind in São Paulo. The folder, which appears every two months and is free of charge, presents all the programs of the museums, galleries and areas dedicated to the visual arts, as well as services. The Mapa das Artes site (www.mapadasartes.com.br) is a portal that covers the whole of Brazil and presents the programs and services of museums from all states. It has a number of sections, including those dedicated to the arts salons, with dates and details on public notices on how artists can submit their works. The Shorts section presents articles and a service on developments, events and matters of interest to devotees of the visual arts. It also has columns entitled Supernova, containing the most updated information, and News, which presents a selection of articles on the visual arts from the world’s main publications. The Mapa das Artes guide´s wide-ranging coverage has made it an essential item in the expansion of the Brazilian arts circuit.
